Dr. Cora Scott, deputy secretary at the Delaware Department of Education, is a seasoned educational leader with more than 25 years of experience across district, charter, and higher education. An expert in school improvement and instructional best practices, Dr. Scott is known for building rapport and establishing trusting, collaborative relationships. A Delaware native, Dr. Scott began her career as a teacher in Maryland and later held leadership roles in the Christina and Brandywine School Districts, Newark Charter, and the University of Delaware.

A proud graduate of Glasgow High School, she earned degrees from the University of Delaware and Wilmington University. She lives in Delaware with her husband, Steven, and is the proud mom of two college-aged children, Cameron and Kendall.
