Sr. Manager, Communications

Jaynie Alexander leads communications at Empower Schools, translating strategy into clear, compelling narratives for partners, funders, policymakers, and the communities Empower serves. She works across teams to shape messaging, strengthen organizational storytelling, and elevate Empower’s work across Innovation Schools, Rural Collaboratives, and Early College and Career Pathways.

Throughout her career, Jaynie has led communications and external affairs work spanning stakeholder engagement, coalition management, funding strategy, and public advocacy. Her experience spans education, workforce development, edtech, and media, including work with Teach For America, Outschool, and National Geographic.

Outside of work, Jaynie enjoys cultivating her butterfly garden, baking, and playing the ukulele. She lives in Dallas, Texas with her husband, Keischel, and their son, Theodore.

Jaynie holds an MBA from Duke University, a BA in interpersonal and organizational communication from the University of Central Florida, an M.Ed. in educational leadership from the University of North Texas, and an M.Ed. in bilingual education from Southern Methodist University.
