Christopher Shropshire, Ed.D

Chris serves as Special Assistant to the President at Paul Quinn College, the nation’s first Urban Work College. Previously, he served as a Program Officer with the Rainwater Charitable Foundation, located in Fort Worth, Texas. Chris has more than 15 years of experience, having served in both K-12 and higher education as a teacher, administrator, and charter school authorizer.  One of his recent roles was as Executive Director of Operations at the Leadership Academy Network in Fort Worth, where he co-launched an autonomous, in-district charter network of 5 campuses. Chris has overseen networks of schools and governing boards that have served more than 31,000 students and collaborated to create systems of support for students to successfully navigate K-12 and higher educational systems.

Chris joined the Empower Schools Board of Directors in 2021.
