“Every community has large social problems. No one entity can solve it in the community. It’s not accidental that this momentum is taking pace.” On backbone organizations, sharing data and being transparent, and innovative partnerships
“When we give our partners some room in finance and staffing for example, it’s been interesting and enlightening to see what they can do. That’s a benefit of these partnership. They can pilot quickly, within district schools, and can share learning across the district.”
Lessons learned from an excellent panel with @Midland_ISD on partnerships: 1. Prepare your internal team to be ready to think differently and respond to the nimbleness of partners. 2. Clear up misconceptions. These are Midland ISD students, and district schools.
Partnerships have always been key. I lived that with YWLA. Difference is the people standing in the gap. Partnerships met SEL needs & developed parents as advocates. It is not our fight alone, this affects all of us. We will need to work together. -Dr. Hall Crowley ISD board pres

“Just as I would differentiate for the different students in my classroom, I think it makes sense that districts take different approaches to their communities. It definitely is innovation, but I also just call that equity.”
Powerful panel on education boards with @LeadershipISD
